Aurora R6 recommended ssd?

1.  if I wanted to add another ssd, I'm thinking 500-1tb, is there any recommend ones or will any work.

2. This is my first pc in a long time been using a Mac for about 10 years so I'm out of the loop on upgrades.. Sata or pcie will either work?

3. Thinking of throwing a 2-4tb regular hd in as well for pics and such but I figure any hd will work for that.  I searched for an answer before posting so my apologies if it's been asked already. 

1. Hopefully, your 256gb bootable SSD is the PCIe/NVMe (M.2 slot on motherboard) and I'm guessing you are keeping that installed. It should be able to do around 3000/1500 r/w easy.

I like top tier SSDs (Samsung, Intel, Kingston) but the "pro models" with the more durable MLC memory and better warranties.

2. Additional 2.5inch SATA-3/600 SSDs work for sure. I don't see why a PCIe based NVMe SSD would not work in an Add-in card-slot, but can't say I've ever heard of anyone actually trying it on Aurora-R6.

3. Well, get a good one (top tier) if your data is important to you. When those large spinners fail, that is a lot of stuff to lose all at once. I tend to use USB-3 externals or NAS if for backups or archive media. Remember to keep at least 2 copies of anything important. You can also pay monthly for cloud storage instead.  

Appreciate it mine came with a normal sata 250gb ssd that is the boot drive with Windows on it... I ended up getting a 500gb Samsung 850evo couldnt really justify spending the extra on a pro. So now I'm thinking since it did not come with a pcie ssd I could add another 500gb if I wanted down the line at some point.  

Thanks Eimy went with the 2.5 500gb Samsung 850 evo and it works great for all my games and vr content.
