cant separate speakers/headset on playback

Question

hello,

i have an alienware 18 mid 2013 laptop running windows 8.1,

i cannot separate sounds when i plugin a headset from speakers. on playback options i have both speakers/headset on the same option, when i roll back to windows drivers, i get them separated on playback option but no sound from speakers.

im trying to make sounds play for a game on default speakers while headset for teamspeak.

thats the option when i change drivers to "High definition audio device" but no sound from speakers even when headset not plugged in.

thank u again rodrigo for ur reply,&#xa0; i have managed to fix this, now i have game sound running from speakers and im using teamspeak on headset. i rolled back the drivers and now running fine on these running these drivers i searched everywhere on the net to get this fixed and couldnt find any helpful info, many ppl were trying to fix this and somehow it seems this way works. thank you again i think i had trouble trying to explain what i was trying to do.

Hello,

Unfortunately, I don't believe this is possible. If I am understanding correctly, you want to separate the sounds so that 2 different audio devices generate different audio at the same time. One will always have to be the default. With the audio driver installed, the speakers should work properly as long as they are selected to be the default device in the playback devices menu. Please let me know if you have any questions.

What exactly do you mean by separate? They way it shows on the picture should provide audio for both the headset and speakers. But just so that I'm clear, only one audio device at a time is going to produce sound. For example, if you are using the speakers to listen to music and then you connect your headphones, the headphones will take over and you will only hear the audio from the headphones, not the speakers. Let me know if you have any questions.

i mean just like the picture on the first post, have them as a separate options on playback menu, rather than have them as speakers/headset on the 2nd image i posted.
