Front headphone jack only plays right speaker
Whenever I plug anything into my frontal headphone jack on my Aurora R3. But If I put some weight on it, it works fine. I'm pretty sure this is a hardware issue as it does the same thing on three different OSs and a variety of headphones and speakers. Is this a common problem?

You asked if it was a common problem. Only a person having that problem can answer that question (I am not).
If all your headsets work fine in the BACK jack ... and all fail in the TOP/FRONT jack ... I would say the TOP jack is bad.
If you are out-of-warranty ...
1. Order parts and get it fixed
2. Use Back jacks instead.
3. Get a USB headset (they work better anyway).

This device is also nice.

1. Easily use back jacks "near the front".
2. Push a button to switch between speakers and headphones.
... and lots of other stuff.
