How do I use my laptop's TactX keys in a linux virtual machine (VMware)?
Hello I have an AW17R3 with TactX keys on the left and above the keypad. I would like to use the keys when I'm running virtual machines in VMware, but when I run showkey in a terminal window, it does not show any response when pressing any of the TactX keys and times out after ten seconds (as if no key were pressed).

I would think you should be able to link the keyboard directly to your VM to get the keys to work.... keep in mind the TactX keys may have proprietary drivers... in that case you either need to find open source drivers if you can find them or you're out of luck.

I have also tried installing VMware's enhanced keyboard driver, and running showkey -s in the console (since it warns that X might interfere), but still no luck
