Installing windows on an Aurora-R4
I just got a new alienware, the Aurora. After the operating system was done setting up I started installing windows updates. Then in blue screened, I don't know which update it was installing when it blue screened.
Then when the computer was restarting it blue screened again after the windows loading screen. Even when I tried booting into safe mode it blue screened. So I tried re installing the operating system. But before it actually started installing I got this.
Even when I tried a different install disc it did the same thing. I tried using the resource disc to get the driver but that didn't work. I even tried removing different devices like optical drives and hard disc drives to see if one was causing the problem.

The problem here is that all this shouldn't have happened in the first place. I would call phone support in case you have a hardware failure.
You can run Dell Diags ePSA from F12 on Boot. Be sure it all passes.
Set BIOS to:
SATA Mode = AHCI Mode (let us know if you require RAID Mode)
Boot Mode = UEFI
That should get you to at least Safe-Mode or better.

So, if you are a new user, and wish to do a Recovery instead (and/or wish to keep the Recovery functionality for use later), just watch this video and follow the steps on your system:

For many users (with a working Recovery partition) this might be a better option. It will easily reset machine to it's original factory install software and OS config. Remember, you can watch it on your smart-phone, tablet, or second computer.

Thanks Tesla I made the "SATA Mode = AHCI Mode" switch and I can now go forward with the install. I don't know why it was set to RAID in the first place since I never needed that. I will let you know if the install goes well.

Well after a few more blue screens I figured out what was causing that problem. It was one of the windows updates for USB 3.0
Renesas Electronics - USB Controller - Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 Root Hub

You may need to restart your computer for this update to take effect.
Update type: Optional

Whenever I try to install that update it blue screens and I can't even restart into safe mode without it blue screening again. There is a dell driver for that hub that seems to work fine.

Glad you figured it out.
However, that's why it's optional.
You can get Optional stuff from Windows Updates, but it's often not a good idea to get your Drivers there (you get those from Dell, AMD.com, etc.)
