Internal Speakers not Working
After having my Alienware 17 laptop plugged into my external speaker setup at home yesterday the internal speakers now no longer produce any sound. I can get sound through my headphones, but nothing at all in any program or with any type of file through my internal speakers. I have tried re-installing the drivers already and that did not work. Any suggestions?

I'm assuming that this is a 17x R3, with an SPDIF connector (red light emits out of one of the jacks). Did you ever plug in anything into it?

Hi SuburbanZombie, check this article. It has the basic troubleshooting for no sound problems. It might be that the driver is missing or corrupted. Please let me know if the problem it's resolved or not.

Hi,
I just recently got alienware 17 R2 and I have an issue with the built in speaker. My built in speker is not wokring but when I use my earphone I am hearing the sound. Am I missing or have to do something to make it back to a built in speaker?

I actually have the same problem, all you have to do is:
-open windows menu and search: Sound Blaster
-click on the one that says Sound Blaster Recon3DI Control Panel
-then click Speakers/Headphones
-then click the tab and click Built-in speakers
and Voila!
