Issue with booting from USB

Hi

If this is the wrong place to ask this question then many apologies.

I have been trying to install an SSD drive as my main boot drive. So far I seem to be able to have a dual boot system booting from my old standard HDD. When I choose to boot from the SSD it boots nicely and I get very quick response times.

However, I was hoping to be able to boot without my HDD being involved at all and I am failing to be able to do this.

I have tried to install with just the SSD in and the factory DVD tells me that there is a problem with the CD drivers.

So I checked on the net and the answer seemed to be to create a bootable USB stick with the Windows disk copied onto it. I did this and yet I cannot get the Aurora to see this as a bootable USB disk.

Has anybody got any ideas on this one ?  It's been driving me up the wall for 4 evenings.

Thanks in advance

Ben

What model Aurora ... Release # ?.

Aurora R-4 uses the UEFI system (replaces traditional BIOS). Boot control is there.

My model is as follows :

Alienware Aurora : ALX Matte Black 875W Chassis

D11AMW04

Processor : Intel Core i7-3930K (Six Core, 12MB Cache) Overclocked up to 4.1Ghz

I'm new to this forum so you'll have to excuse me - is that the right information to answer the question ?

Thanks

Ben
