Here are my symptoms:

1) Alienware boot screen comes up.

2) Quickly it goes to a black screen with this message "No bootable device -- Please restart system"

3) F2 Setup Utility Main tab shows(Which is as it should be):

A) Fixed HDD WDC WD7500BPKT-75PK4TO 750GB

B) SATA ODD HL-DT-ST DVD+/-RW GS3ON

C) mSATA Device [Not Detected]

4) F2 Setup Utility Boot tab shows(here is the problem):

A) Boot Device Priority

NOTHING ELSE

5) F12 Diagnostics ePSA Pre-Boot System Assessment:

A) All devices pass the test the key ones bellow.

B) I did the long test on the Hard Drive 0 and it passed.

C) CDROM Drive 0 passed

D) OS Boot Path 0 passed

Is this how Alienware laptops acts when a boot drive goes bad? I have had that happen on other computers and the symptoms have been different. The boot devices have never disappeared.
