Lighting dull
I just bought a new Alienware 17 laptop, I've barely had it 3 weeks and yesterday all the Alienware fx lighting on it went very dull and almost off completely. I have a blue colour scheme, and I can't see any blue lights under the keyboard at all. On the Monitor, under the screen where it says Alienware was always lit up with a very bright blue and now it's so dull I can hardly see it. I've played around for a few hours trying to figure it out and I give up. Do I have a problem here, or is this something I can fix on my own?

On the bottom right corner of the Windows taskbar, there is an Alien head icon that you can right click to get some options. One of those options says "Dim Lighting Zones". If it’s checked, uncheck it and if it’s not checked, try checking it to see what happens.
Let me know how it goes.

Right on, thank you this worked! Really appreciate the help. How did this happen in the first place? I don't remember changing this option in the first place. I turned my computer off, and later when I went to use it again all the lights were dim. I thought there was a real problem with it.

Hello Canadianbaconnah,
You're welcome, I'm glad it worked. It may have been the power plan that you currently have set up. it could have caused the option to be activated if it was trying to safe power. Other than that, I don't believe there is another program or update that can cause the option to be activated automatically.

That makes sense, I had been playing around with the power plan settings. Thanks again, really appreciate the feedback and will come back if I accidentally change something again and don't know how to fix it haha.
