m17x HDMI-IN (Input) - Brightness Settings

I have literally scoured the internet for more hours than I care to share. I have not been able to find a solution to this problem. 

So under Windows 10, my Alienware's 120hz 3D screen is stunning and beautiful. One of the features I really wanted to take advantage of was HDMI-In. However, there is one problem. 

Whenever I plug in an HDMI device into the Alienware, the screen goes from bright and vivid to dull/dim and washed out. Is there some type of display-controller to override the brightness settings whether it be from the nVidia control panel or bios. 

Please someone tell me they have a solution to this problem. I am not the only one out there, as people have reported the issue a lot, but no one has solved it.
