M18x R2 Boot issue....only on ac power!
Recently re-spawned the M18x to factor defaults clean things up....and created an issue. Machine now boots to alien screen, starts to boot into windows, beeps once, and the restarts. Strangley, only on ac power, on battery, all is well..!! I thought it was a dodgy power brick, replaced it, but the same...
Any whiz ideas out there?

Which BIOS version is the system running?
Try doing a power drain, follow the steps below to perform a power drain.

Bios is A03
The power drain didn't do the trick (((...still gets to the windows screen beeps once and reboots...but is still perfectly ok on battery power....I'm lost here....wish I hadn't respawned!!!

Hi,
The latest Bios version for this system is A12. You could try updating it to confirm if it fixes the issue. However, since you have the A03 version, it would be best to flash it to the A07 version first, then A10 and finally A12.

The last time I tried this, the flash upgrade insisted I plug in ac power, I cannot do this as the pc then reboots.

Reflashing to 12 didn't fix the issue.

Hi,
Unfortunately, in this case, it could be an issue with the motherboard and it may need to be replaced. You have already done the recommended troubleshooting procedures for this type of issue, normally our next step would be to replace the motherboard.
