Making/Finding Windows 7 Recovery Disc?

Better to get online (with working machine) and download the latest drivers from ftp.dell.com or support.dell.com  ... much newer than any old burnt Resource Disk.

There is a "suggest order" for drivers. At the very least ... get the chipset drivers on there first.

Sorry, I didn't really think I'd need it. Mine's an M14x R2, but I don't need drivers, what I need is a way to put Windows 7 back on my computer if I don't have my recovery disc at home. I tried the official Microsoft site, but when I entered my product code it told me to check with the company I bought the device from because it's a specialized type of Windows 7.

What problems are you experiencing on Windows 10?  

Just an FYI... many end users aren't aware it's recommended to clean install an OS once you've upgraded.  This is even more important with Windows 10 as majority of the issues users are having with their PCs can be attributed to 1 of 2 categories of users:

• Users knowingly or unknowingly utilizing either Windows 8 drivers on Windows 10 or Windows 10 driver packages that contain Windows 8 dll's and system files
  • For example, Broadcom/Dell Windows 10 drivers for BCM4352/DW1550 WiFi AC cards contain Windows 8 files that cause BSOD's every 15 - 60 minutes.
    • Interestingly enough, even though I made both Dell and Broadcom aware of this in August, including the names of the Windows 8 files they included in the driver package, that specific driver package has not only still not been updated, it's still on the drivers and download page... **scratches head**
• Users knowingly or unknowingly running software that isn't compatible with Windows 10 (especially Internet Security/Antivirus/Antimalware programs, or any other programs requiring deeps hooks within Windows)

Most end users don't realize an "upgrade" to a new OS does not mean it's a new OS install... a substantial amount of drivers and their system files are copied over to the Windows directory of the new OS.  This is a huge problem since Windows 8 drivers are not compatible in any way, shape, or form with Windows 10.  Even though Windows 10 from a GUI perspective is a more polished Windows 8.1, it's coding is entirely different.

It's not just the problems, I just prefer Windows 7 over Windows 10 in general, so I want to go back to it.

If you don't have the Alienware branded install media, you should be able to download the install ISO from Microsoft (I assume since they offer the Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 install media, they probably offer Windows 7 install media as well)
