My Alienware Alpha Story

We I just got my hand on an alienware alpha the I3 version and I must say that I was happy with it.  But the ex owner stated that he didn't like to have the alpha boot up into console mode first then he have to switch it back into desktop mode.  So me being the geek that I am love to have the pc and gaming console into one.  Or a steam machine so I can play pc and console game with just a switch of a button.  But after looking at it I noticed that there is no alienware respawn in the desktop mode and there seem to be no way to go into console mode.  Im thinking that the only way he could go into desktop mode was to delete the console part of the alienware alpha off the machine which don't make since because that what it was made for.  Could anyone tell me how to get it go go back to factory setting and if I need to get a usb from alieware.  Ty for you time.
