My Alienware M18x R2 caught fire

Hi

I was playing on borderlands the pre-sequel for about 2 hours, after I had finished in saved up and exited to windows, I then flipped down the screen without shutting down. I have done this many times however after this I smelt smoke in the air and realised there was white smoke billowing out of the back of my laptop. After letting everything settle down for an hour I plugged in my power supply and tried to turn it on. Nothing happened. I don't know what caused this but I'm very unhappy mainly because this laptop has all my A level course work on it and all my games. I am now unhappy and without a laptop. Specs are as follows:

- I7 2.7ghz

-2x gtx 675m

-16GB memory

-2x 500Gb hdd in Raid 0

If anyone has any addvice it would be appreciated, all I know is for a £3500 laptop this isn't acceptable.

P.S. I still have a year's warranty

well seeing as it was fine before you closed it, im assuming maybe the power for cld or something shorted out on hinge were its under stress and flex, its possible  that motherboard fried aswell but   if you have warranty your  best bet would  be to call and get it fixed, your  hard drive should still have everything intact assuming the drives didn't fail, but  hard part being raid its hard to remove and backup .

call warranty services for your area and get that taken care of right away
