New Alienware 13 R2 OLED at Best Buy
I purchased and returned the new Alienware 13 R2 OLED laptop from Best Buy. I bought it with the anticipation of putting in a fast SSD drive, since it comes with a slow 500gb regular hard drive. I took it apart and Alienware does not have any other ports for an SSD. This makes no sense, I wanted to put a Samsung SSD 950 PRO NVMe 512GB SSD in the laptop. Save yourself the time and not buy one, I ended up just ordering the highest end off Alienware' s website.

So it looks like from the manual that if you get the version with an HDD, you get the HDD and the caddy that comes with it, however if you get the SSD version, they have a daughterboard and caddy that replaces the HDD in the same slot. You could have called Dell and bought the SSD caddy maybe. The unit is so small they may not have been able to have both installed.

I was assuming like my other alienware' s that it had an SSD slot, I know you can't have both HD installed. Intent was to use SSD. Thanks
