New Alienware pc, command center and thermal controller crashing
To whom this may concern,
I am in need of some assistance. I bought a new AW Aurora R5 from BestBuy yesterday evening (11/17/2016) and I am already having problems with some of the software that is preinstalled. The AW Command Center application will not load and I believe its being caused by the thermal controller. However the AW FX icon is still in the icon tray, so I can still change the colors of the lights on the case. But I cannot monitor my system temps and my fan speeds now, and because I bought this computer for heavy gaming I would definitely prefer to have this application function properly so I can monitor the temp and fan speeds. So I tried to fix the issue myself by updating the application. I uninstalled the preinstalled version (I think it was 4.6.16.0), and installed a new version (4.6.18.0) I found on dells website for my particular Pc model. This did not change anything, so I am now asking for help. Now as for the reason as I think its being caused by the TC some how is because even though the CC application will not load when I double click it or right click and run as administrator, I can still access the application sometimes by going to the AW FX icon and right clicking then going to the top option "Alienware FX Editor". The catch is I can only use the other 3 functions of the application. I can click them, and set them how I want them, but as soon as I click the TC function the application crashes and wont open again until a fresh boot. Does anyone have a fix for this issue and can you please lend me your knowledge?
