New alienware x51 won't load past boot screen.
The new alienware x51 desktop I got 4 weeks ago crashed today. It completely froze and would not respond. I was not doing anything at the time, just put it on while I was getting ready. When I restarted it, I noticed a buzzing nose. It only got as far as the alienware loading screen. I restarted again and the buzzing noise was back along with some clicks. I recorded the noise on my iphone http://videobam.com/pAHqm. I no longer get the alienware logo loading screen.
I have not yet made a windows backup disk.
I live in the UK

Now when I switch it on I get a black screen that says "Internal hard disk drive not found. To resolve this issue, try to reset the drive. No bootable devices. strike F1 to retry boot, F2 enter setup menu, F5 enter PSA"

Sorry for the late reply. I work away from home.
My operating system is windows 8
I followed the steps to drain the residual charge in my desktop...but that didn't work.
I pressed f12 to enter the boot menu but I can not see a "diagnostics" option. When I press F12, this is all I see
n
no "diagnostic" menu.

Hi Ross301,
It appears to be an issue with the hard drive. If you check the image that you shared, it displays an option which says 'Enter ePSA', please select that options as that is the diagnostics present on this system. You may also refer to the video on the link http://dell.to/17DCL0R for more information. If any error message appears, share the exact error code.
Also, boot to BIOS by tapping 'F2' key on the start-up. Navigate to 'Boot' tab and make sure that the 'Boot Mode' is set to 'UEFI'. Press the 'F10' key to save the changes and then 'Esc' key to exit. Also, navigate to 'Advanced' tab and check if the hard drive is getting detected under 'Standard CMOS Features' or not. If the issue still persist, try loading the BIOS to defaults by pressing the 'F9' key and then save it by pressing the 'F10' key.
If the system is not booting to Windows, try reseating the hard drive and check if you get any success. Please refer to Owner's Manual for instructions on assembling and dis-assembling the hardware components. Follow the 'Safety Guidelines' listed on the manual to help protect your computer from potential damage and to help ensure your own personal safety.
Hope this helps. Please reply if you have any questions.

Had the same problem as the op, wasn't getting past the load screen couldn't access bios or anything else, thought it might have something to do with the new windows update because when I last used my x51 i put it on restart and update, went to work and didn't look at my computer till the next night (24 hours later). It has done it before but has worked after i turned the computer off then on this time it didn't at all tried
And omg the computer loaded up you guys saved me thanks.
What do you think caused this and how can i prevent this from happening again, im running a hardware diagnostics now and maybe a full virus scan to be on the safe side. Did i just drain my computers battery power because it didnt fully restart?
computer specs are
intel core i7-3770 cpu @ 3.40 Ghz
windows 8
if that helps ty.

Hi alienwareftw101,
I am glad that system booted fine and you are able to use it now. At times static charge gets accumulated in the system which may cause this to happen. However, I recommend you to perform complete hardware diagnostics and virus scan to confirm hardware functionality.
Keep me posted with the results. I'll be happy to help you.

WOW. customer support that actually works!!! I did the disconnect and it worked with mine as well.
my issue was that it would get the loading screen, offer to hit F2 or F12, but no matter what it would not respond.
works fine now. i will do the virus scan, as well as the diagnostics as you suggested to another user, but wanted to thank you again.
MVPete.

Hi ive had my x51 for about 8 months now with a few problems, such as:
crashes and becomes distorted, just like on this image on google,
But they seemed to have stopped now.
I just bought a new monitor so i can play in 1920x1080 instead of 1680x1050 and loaded up CS GO and i encountered a new problem where the game freezes and causes a sound loop, this happened may, may times within 5 minutes so i tried restarting steam and cs go. This did not work i then decied to reboot my computer to see if that helps and now it wont load past the Bois screen and does no respond when i press F2 or F12. I have tried your method of draining residual chargefrom the system to solve it and it did not work. Any Help ?
