No login screen for windows 8
Hi
I am having a problem with my windows 8 desktop (Alienware x51). When I turn my computer on everything loads up normally except for when I get to the Microsoft account page nothing appears. The box to put in your password is gone. I am not able to log in. The icon to Sleep, restart and shutdown still remains in the bottom corner.
When I first turned it on (when the problem began) the computer said something about hard drive failure and then attempted to make repairs. That doesn't appear anymore, I just have that problem above.
Possible causes? The last time I turned it off (When there was no problem) I used the button shut down forcefully so it may have not shut down properly.
I have tried turning it off and on.
I ran an ePSA Pre-boot System Assessment, it passed all of the computers devices (cables, video card, processor, etc.). though the hard drive took about an hour longer than any other device to pass. It did pass everything though.
Any help on how to fix or diagnose problem would be greatly appreciated
thanks

Hi!
Try to access Windows on Safe Mode (click the power icon from the sign-in screen, hold Shift, and then click Restart). Once there, try a System Restore using a recovery point created before the problem started.

Hi
thanks for the response
Unfortunately my computer says that no restore points have been created and i can't create one using system protection because it is "only available in an online operation system"
Any other suggestions? Everything on the computer is backed up so it wouldn't be a problem if a solution involved clearing the hard drive

Alright, in that case, try a factory reset using AlienRespawn.
