Raid 0 setup from bare drives. How to?

Well this is how it came, both drives and msata cache all in raid 0, which of course made it so small.

I cant post pics here cause of file size, but my bios can setup raid with rapid storage technology bulit

in using uefi mode or I can use legacy rom and do the ctrl I setup.

I will see the raid volume as 1 drive and the msata under it.

they will both be unallocated space.

then I have to load the irst driver from a usb drive?

after that do select new and format the raid volume or just hit next to install windows?

Hi MEMEMA, 

The Raid 0 configuration should only be set up with the 2 1TB drives. The 80GB Msata drive can be used as a caching device to increase the system performance.

It can also be used as an extra drive for storage but normally they are set as cache to increase the performance. Click here to view an article that explains how you can set this up in Windows. This is how it should have been set up originally when you received the system.

What did I do wrong?

In the Bios the boot mode should be on UEFI and the SATA mode/operation in the advanced menu should be on Raid. Then you can go to CTRL I and set up the Raid 0 configuration using the 2 1TB Hard Drives. The 80GB Msata drive should remain unallocated.

Then you can proceed with installing Windows and using the USB drive to load the IRST driver. If it loads correctly it should only show the 2 1TB drives configured in Raid 0 (which looks like is just one hard drive but that’s because it’s configured in Raid).

Proceed by selecting the drive and clicking next. The system should partition the drive automatically and begin to install Windows. For the power supply, use the 240W that came originally with the system.

OK windows installed, do I still need to install the irst software?

I guess cause that was just the driver during installation.

I see no icon.

Also, under disk management its asking to initialize the msata, as mbr or gpt,?

Yes I was, after installing windows, under disk management the msata drive needed to be

initialized as it was offline.

It ask to use it as a MBR or GPT.

Which option do I use or just leave it alone?

Other issues were driver related.

Did have a Performance Rating of 6.2 for hard disk though after accelerating.

In which part does it ask about the MBR/GPT? If the Msata drive shows as a caching device in the IRST program, nothing else needs to be done. It may say something like "caching mode" under the drive information.
