RAM upgrade
Hi,
I have an Aurora that I bought in 2009 I believe. It have the 920 i72.66Ghz, OC'd to 3.2 Ghz. The RAM was 3x2GB = 6 GB, DDR3 -1333.
I just upgraded to 12G RAM. 3 x 4G of 12GB DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800). I installed the new RAM, turned on the Computer, and everything seems to work fine. The XMP, which was turned off before, automatically turned on in the BIOS. The RAM is recognized as 1600 and all 12G are available.
Going from 1333 to 1600 worried me, but the computer seems to run it fine. DO I still have to mess around in the BIOS and adjust the voltage? It soundsa little confusing, and if I do not have to, all the better. Thanks!
Jeff
