RAM

Here is the system I just ordered about a week ago:
Alienware Aurora Desktop

Overclocked Intel Core i7 920 (3.2GHz, 8MB Cache)

3GB Triple Channel 1333MHz DDR3

Dual 1.8GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 - SLI Enabled

500GB - SATA-II 3Gb/s 7200RPM, 16MB Cache HDD

Lunar Shadow, Alienware Aurora Chassis, 875W PSU

Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English

Single Drive: 24X CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) w/double layer write capability

Is 3 gig ram enough??

3GBs will be fine for Windows 7. It handles system resources much better than previous operating systems.

3 Gigs is fine for everyday computing. If you're gaming, then 6 GB is good.

Also, you could have saved yourself $200 by not getting the overclocking. It's a 5 minute job, and the procedure how-to is posted here on the forums. Just saying.

Mine shipped today. I can't wait! I had 12GB, 500GB HDD, Cosmic Black 875 watt PSU, 1.8 GB nvidia 260, the rest stock. :)

Actually, you can always but another 3 gigs of ram (triple channel ram is usually sold in sets of 3). I think there are 6 slots on the Aurora motherboard.

i mostly play the Call of Duty Games, CSS, Fallout 3.  The sales rep pushed me towards the sli 260 and faster cpu and then always get more ram. i know i could OC the CPU but im not a computer wiz and didnt want to burn my comp out. ive always wanted SLI so i really wanted that then huge amounts of ram.  i dont do any crazy multitasking or computing so i should be fine... if not i can swing by and get another 2 gigs. is 5 ok or does it have to be 6 or some even number?
