Upgrading to Ultimate using windows 7 anytime upgrade?
Is it possible to update the copy of Windows Home Premium that comes with Alienware PCs using windows 7 anytime upgrade and a Windows 7 Ultimate retail serial? I've heard you can use a normal retail serial, but I also see that Microsoft sell a special version of Ultimate that can only be used with windows 7 anytime upgrade. Thanks!

Hi,
I upgraded to Ultimate with no problems. I just entered the serial number purchased from Windows 7 Anytime.

Ah, but I'm not looking to use a Windows 7 Anytime anytime, I want to use a normal retail serial. Apparently, it can be done, but I'm not sure.

So, is it possible to upgrade an Alienware install of Windows 7 to Windows 7 Ultimate using Windows 7 Anytime Anytime and a regular Ultimate serial, or am I out of luck and need to install Windows 7 Ultimate normally?
