Also another quicky, has a 1155 motherboard still don't know if i can use an ivybridge cpu as Dell not posted anything yet.

Hi, brought an alienware r3 with a 525w psu,

Are you sure? What makes you think it's not the 875w?

I didn't think any R-3's came with the little PS. You might want to remove it and look at the large sticker/label on the top of the PS.

The Aurora-R3 shipped with the following power supplies -
J556T 875w
W299G 875w
W85G8 525w

At this time, there is no released data on 3rd generation Ivy Bridge CPUs and the Alienware desktops.

Hi, thanks for the info regarding the 875w psu, because i live in the uk not sure if an american psu will work here also the ones posted will not ship to uk, have checked my psu and is defo the 525w according to the label.

Anyone know if the stateside psu will work in the uk due to the different currents? any advice would be welcome.

Thanks.

Do the outlets in the UK run 220v? I know in germany I could put an adapter an plug my alienware straight in to the wall. In UK I am not sure.
