WIN 7 CD for Alienware fresh installation
I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 2020 with Windows 7 (service tag ). I did not receive an installation CD with the Win 7 operating system. How can I get one?

It used to be free for Alienware customers. They first made it so only Dell systems didn't get the CD but Alienware systems did. I did not know they changed it so Alienware systems didn't get the CD ether. It may cost you and if so I would guess it to be about $15 US dollars.
If you talk to someone at Dell you may be able to talk them out of charging you. Just be nice and polite on the phone.

Request a Windows CD with your order. I have a feeling you will not be happy without it
To answer your questions. No it's not full version and yes you can use it to install your OS on a new SSD...but it will also install all the bloat that came with the system. Plus with it not being a full version that is all it can do. So ask for the Windows CD. You will not need a new windows key when you use the Alienrepsawn.

Hi,
Dell has stopped shipping the recovery disks with the computers. It is because any Dell Computer shipped from the factory would have a partition on the hard drive as the D drive which is the Recovery partition. We need to create the recovery disks and keep it safe for future reference.
You can certainly do a clean re-installation on the SSD that you are planing to install in your computer with the Recovery disks created using Alien Respawn.

I really don't know if Dell will charge you anything. I know at one time HP charged $15 for the OS disc. Dell my give it to you for free or maybe just the mailing costs. My guess is it's free but it's just a guess and Dells site doesn't say if there is a fee or not.

Dell allready charge premium for M14x soo why not just include window 7 dvd...? but remove it and need to contact tech support for window 7 disc.. their excuses is for record keeping purpose lols... oh in UK they no longer let you Personalized plate with ur name.. :( xxx haha look me complaint.. haha my order still in shiping,,,

That’s right, the recovery disc can be used to do clean Windows 7 install on SSD.

Thank You, yes i will install window with disk if alienware uk provide it.. if not i have made it with alien respawn or just clone it.. no worried i'm tech person lols,,.. my ori question is does M14x R2 provided window 7 disc ... but in uk they don't what i hear.. but i found all about it on monday :))
