Windows 8 issues on m17x...
Hello all, excuse me if this problem has been addressed already, if so can someone point me in the right direction.
I have a M17x and am trying to install windows 8 pro 64bit
Everything is ok except for a few little issues.
1. I have two "unknown devices" in device manager, I suspect that one is the IDT CIR driver as that is one of the few that would not install - Is there any way to findout what these unknown device are????
2. Bluetooth 370 card is not recognised, I have tried several 370 cards without any success - Although I have found a way around that by using a Intel 2230 combo card I'm still interested to findout if there is a way to use the 370 cards.
3. Every so often when doing a reboot (not cold start) I get a black screen as if the GPU driver is not loading (maybe) a complete shutdown is required and the system performs normally.
Thanks in advance for any help

Hi,
Don't take this the wrong way, but why ruin a great laptop with what has to be Microsofts biggest blunder thus far.
I'd run Android if possible before I'd let Win 8 any of my computers.

No question that I am not a fan of Win 8.
Don't understand why they didn't make a seperate version for tablets, laptops and phones.

Excuse me - But your joking right.
$1500 - $5000 for a Alienware Laptop
$1500 - $5000+ for a Alienware Desktop
And Dell does not have the resources...........................................................................................................................................................................
