Worst Customer Service Ever
I had purchased a Alienware laptop for my son less than two years ago when he went off to college. Purchased the extended warranty at over $500.
The laptop would no longer boot, i keep getting a hardware not compatible error . So started a two and a half week trouble shooting process with dell support line. of course the could not find my warranty so every time my son would call the refuse to help with out a credit card number, so my son would call me and i would call dell and give them the warranty confirmation number i would get placed on hold for twenty to thirty and they would come back on and ask how they could help. i would explain that it's my son laptop not mine he will call back as he in out of state in school please just be sure to link the warranty with the laptop which he assured me had been done. this scenario happen at three more times. On line support was unable to fix issue they sent out a local PC tech to replace the video card which took three days to show up, tech replace the video card but still getting error. back to tech support multiple calls and hours to have them dispatch the local tech again to replace main mother board. tech calls to say he is at the dorm address but no ones there Surprise my son is in class at 1pm on a Friday. son leaves that class misses another which the tech views a YouTube video on how to replace mother board. No i need to say it? after he replaces the mother board still not working.
To try and shorten this story up a little, sent the laptop back to dell three weeks go by call multiple times to get an update, promised a call back never received one, laptop is returned still not working. Semester is almost over son has a conference to attend in a week and a half no laptop.
Called dell spoke with a manger, asked him if there was any way to get this Laptop working or send us working one said he could start the paper work to get a refurbished unit but couldn't promise one but would let us know in two weeks weather or not we could ship us one. asked if there was anyway to expedite the process given the length of time we have already put in on this. his response was we are fulfilling our obligations under the warranty that's the best we can do.
If i hadn't spent so much money on the laptop and warranty i would just go buy him another laptop NOT A DELL and end it.
lesson learned never buy a Dell.
