Yesterday's update? Lights are gone!
Alienware Command Center update
Messed my system up!
Error message:
There was an error while AlienFX Controller was communicating with the computer. This might have been caused due to a problem with the hardware or the software.Try these solutions to correct the issue, in the following order:
- Try to enable AlienFX Controller again. Right-click on the AlienFX icon in the Windows notification area and select 'Enable Alienware AlienFX'.
- Shut down your computer and power it back on.
If neither of these solutions works, please contact Alienware technical support.
This error may also be caused if Alienware AlienFX software is installed on a computer without the proper hardware support for Alienware AlienFX.
Don't want to waste hrs talking to shiftless Support on the phone

Try doing a system restore to the last point before the update was installed first of all?
If that doesn't work (try a few of different restore points), try booting from the OS disc, and doing a 'Repair'?

I had a similiar issue after upgrading to the Alienware A06 bios.
I shutdown my system (Area 51 ALX, Win7-64bit), then unplugged the power cable to the desktop, waited one minute, plugged the power cable back in to the desktop and rebooted.
After reboot, all Alienware functions were operable.

Yea pretty much the same as with me. I was a bit worried for a second that I had messed it up doing an update that I didnt really need to anyway. Luckily a reboot sorted it all out and it has been fine since.

Please if you can help me too, i have pretty much the same problem except that i didn't update anything. Couple of month ago 5-6 i had a bit different problem which made me reinstall Alienware alienfx. I downloaded a newer version and all the problems were gone but now i have this problem:
