3 Speaker Placement?

Hi and thanks in advance for help.

When ordering my Dimension 2400, I upgraded to a subwoofer. Just where does the sub-woofer go? My physical desktop space is limited. In order, from left to right, I've got:

left speaker   inbox/outbox trays   flat screen monitor   subwoofer   printer   right speaker

There's not .05" of space left across my desktop. Does the sub-woofer really belong on the physical desktop? In one setup diagram I saw, it appeared that the sub-woofer was on the floor, under the desk. It would sure give me some needed space, but I can't imagine such a placement would be aurally correct.

Again, thanks!

Allen

Usually, the subwoofer is placed on the floor under the desk.  You will get more bass (or bass effect) if it is on the floor.  Same way with "theater" systems for TV's, the bass is normally placed on the floor.

fireberd,

Thanks! Not only did moving it to the floor give me some much needed space, it improved the sound.

Again, thanks for your help.
