Do you want seperate programs on each monitor? if so a splitter will not work.

I need separate programs on each screen so a splitter won't work

So what you are looking for is a system that will support 3 video cards with dual outputs. What are the requiremnts for the video cards, such as do they need to be PCI-e or PCI, what resolution are you planning to run with on the monitors.

Yes...1280 by 1024 DVI or VGA, Will the 3 PCI cards conflict? Can they work together and extend the desktop?

This is the only site that know what they are doing when it comes to consumer level multi monitor PC's, I have done the homework and it ain't cheap.

not really sure about that across 5 monitors. normally each card can drive two monitors per card. gonna post a message in another board and see if i can get you an answer.
