8200 Floppy Drives

Question

I've only seen two 8200s ever -- both were friends and both needed a bios flash.  Actually, both were just having their HD's replaced and OSes reinstalled so I figured it would be a good time.   Neither of the floppy drives worked reliably -- if at all.  Is this a common problem?  Cause 2 for 2 ain't so good ;-)

which was of course why I asked if others had the problem -- I'm completely willing to accept the fact that it was random chance ;-)

I've had no problems with my floppy in three years of use.

Sounds like bad luck, or the dust was never cleaned out of them.

can of compressed air in the front the best way to remove any dust?

I use compressed air, a vacuum cleaner with a crevice tool, and a flashlight.
