Will the BFG Geforce GT OC 256MB GDDR3 PCle Graphics Card work on a Deminsion 8300?
Will it take the jumpiness out of gaming?

With thanks!

No need to post 4000 messages :)

As mentioned...

The best AGP card you can get is probably a Geforce 7800GS (which was just released like a week ago). The 6800GS would be about $70-100 cheaper. The lowest you'd want to go with would be a 6600GT, which would still be a HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE upgrade from what you have now. (Basically you'd be jumping ahead two generations in terms of performance.)

I have a Nvidia Geforce FX 5300 and it's 'Jumpy' with it's performance.

What video card are talking about? You didn't list it. As mentioned though you need an AGP card.

Will this high-end card work with the standard 250-watts?

Thanks!

if you look at this post:

http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=dim_video&message.id=137927

you may find someone that got it working with an 250 wats power supply, anyway i hope to get an 7800 myself tomorrow ( i am in germany) i guess it should work as the dell 250 watt power supply seems to be capable of delivering 345 watts... you should also look at the faq at the top of this forum. ther are a lot of borads that were tested by dell...

i keep you informed as soon as i have tested my new 7800 on my dell 8600 with a 8600 power supply
