I figured it out after putting A08 back.  The A09 update changed my boot sequence.  After fixing, A09 works fine.

kiteboarder1,

What was the boot order on A09?

What is the boot order on A08?

Chris,
Sorry, I've been busy. I'm not sure I remember what the boot order was on either, but I'll take a guess:

A08
Floppy
Nvidia stripe
SATA Hard drive
IDE Hard drive (not present)
USB

A09
Floppy
SATA Hard Drive
Nvidia stripe
IDE HD (not present)
USB

After upgrading to A09 and reverting to A08 and it still did not recognize the OS, I noticed my SATA HD was at the top of the list. I switched it and booted fine with A08, so I upgraded again to A09 and the boot order did not change this time.

A09 did seem to cure the fail to boot problem, however it still takes triple the time to boot as my Dell E510 does at work? Any suggestions? Is it RAID 0 that takes longer to boot?
