Activating Wake-On-Lan remotely

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if there a patch or push that I can use to enable Wake-On-Lan remotely?  Here's the situation:

My company has about 300-400 Optiplex GX520s that never had WoL turned on.  My predecessor claimed that with WoL turned on, Altiris couldn't reach those systems, so it was never done.  I went ahead and turned on WoL on the BIOS yesterday and sure enough, I was waking it up and shutting it down without issues.  So now that we know it's doable, I'm wondering:

How can I get all of our 520s to enable WoL without having to access the BIOS individually on each machine?  Is there some sort of software I can push through Altiris to turn it on?  A lot of what I've read also seems to suggest that we can change these settings via the registry, but I'm not sure if that's assuming that WoL is enabled in the BIOS and this is just the software switch.

I'd sure appreciate any help and insight into this.  Thanks!

After reading the Bios information it might be off :

Remote Wake-Up under Maintenance:

The system can be powered up remotely from Suspend or Hibernate modes or when turned off.
When Low Power Mode (located in the Power Management Group) is On, the system can only be powered up from Suspend. If Remote Wake Up from Hibernate or Off is also required, Low Power Mode must be set to Off.
Off — NIC cannot wake up the system
On — NIC can wake up the system
On w/ Boot to NIC — NIC can wake up the system, and the system boots from the network
Default setting: Off
