Adding a Video Card

I have a Dimension 3100 E310 and want to add a video card to replace the video on the motherboard. Will I have any problems or should this go smoothly. I assume I should use the PCI express slot.

Thanks for your help...

unfortunately, the E310 has a PCI-e x1 slot, with only one "bus lane". this means that video cards aren't supported. You need a PCI-e x16 compatible mainboard.

But you can buy a GeForce 6200 (very low-end) for PCI (not PCI-e).

Hmm, can one get a IEEE 1394 card for PCI-e 1x?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814161017  PCI-Express 1X card now available, but does cost a lot, and no one knows for sure how well it does in games.  The 6200 PCI slot card was going for around $30, and I can almost bet that it would do just as well as the one linked above.
