@ and " keyboard characters
It's a long story but I had to format my hard drive and reinstall everything. Now the characters @ and " are the wrong way round on my keyboard, if you get what I mean! I've tried everything in Control Panel keyboard and Regional and Language to resolve the problem but without any effect. Any ideas anyone please? (Attempted to "wipe" the free space on my hard drive and ended up with the New Technology Loader file disappearing into the wide blue yonder.)

Right click the taskbar and go up to toolbars-> language bar
Now, right click the language bar which appeared next to the clock.
Go to settings.
Select Keyboard and click "Add"
Input language should be English (United States) for U.S. and Keyboard layout/IME should be United States-Dvorak for the U.S.
For the U.K. select United Kingdom for the Keyboard Layout/IME.
Now click OK
Select the old keyboard layout and click Remove.
Now click OK to close the language bar settings.
Now right click the taskbar go up to toolbars and unclick the language bar to make it go away.

Hmm.. mine says US- Dvorak; always has. My keys are right.
I don't know what is up with that.
My computer doesn't even have Qwerty listed. Must be a Chinese blueprint renamed to avoid the copyright... LOL!

Except the standard keyboard for USA is QWERTY (Windows calls it "US" ), not US-Dvorak!

It won't say QWERTY. It says either "US-Dvorak" or "US", and Dvorak is listed above US on that screen
If you've selected US-Dvorak, your keyboard map will look like this. And that ain't a 'standard' US keyboard map!

You're welcome.
Though sneaking in and changing somebody's PC to Dvorak keyboard settings does make a great April Fool's practical joke! Would I even think of doing that to the boss...? :smileyindifferent:

Thanks to all - my keyboard is now doing as I want it to do.

Nice pix, especially of the ice cream counter. ;)
I may be in Hay-on-Wye (Wales) in May for a business trip, and been thinking of a swing down your way for some R&R. Since we fixed your keyboard problem, you're buying... :D
