ati all in wonder in e310

Ok I want to be able to make use of my windows media center pc and I wanted to know if I can use an ati all in wonder pci card 128mb for this purpose. I know that I could use other video cards up to 256mb but I would have to add a tv tuner card and I'm worried that the power supply won't be able to handle it. With an all in wonder card they are integrated. I've looked on ebay and I've found some 128mb ati rage II pci, would this card do the job or is there some other configuration that I could use. I'll appreciate any input given. I found out too late about the e310 and the pci slots, I know I should have gone with a e510, too late now. Thanks

PCI/PCI-E x1 cards for the E310 only.

Don't get a Rage All-In-Wonder, the rage series of cards was terrible. You'd be better off with a separate card for video and a separate card for TV tuning.

You can buy a PCI TV tuner or you can also go with this PCI-E x1 TV Tuner: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16815117802

If you want a video card, go for a PCI (not PCI-E or AGP) GeForce 6200/5500/5200/5700LE (look for them in that order).

The power supply will be fine for all of this.

So this card will do well for pvr functions. I'm not a gamer I just need it to use it as a pvr. I have a 53 in wide screen tv, I just don't want a bad picture. What I will probably do is use my xbox which is hardwired to my router and ad the wmc extender. Any input will be appreciated.

If I go with the geforce 6200 would there be a diference between 256mb or 128mb.

Yeah, it will be fine for connecting to a TV.

Connecting your XBox to your computer to then use with the TV may present problems due to the response rate of the TV tuner card. Though, I am only guessing with that one.

Not really due to the fact that it is a PCI card. Also, the one available from Newegg.com is fairly cheap (at ~$30), so you might as well just go with that one instead of searching all over the internet for the 256MB iteration.

Just make sure when you buy it, it is PCI. So many people try to upgrade their low-end machines and buy the wrong cards.

Here's an udate. I puchased both the hauppauge pvr 150 and the nvidia geforce 6200 128mb pci video card. The installation went well. The video card worked without a hitch. I decided to go ahead and set up windows media center tv functions and the computer would lock up as soon as it would get a live video feed in the part of the setup. I would have to do a hard reboot to get it going again. I finally made it trough the installation but anytime I would try to watch tv the computer would lock up. The xbox extender worked great, without a problem. So I figured the problem must be the video card since the xbox signals goes through the network not the video card. I switched over to the onboard video and it worked flawlessly. No problems what so ever. I tried every driver possible that I found at the nvidia website and beta drivers that I found on other websites but none of them fixed the problem. I need a video card with dvi output so I can connect my lcd flat screen tv to the computer so I can use it a monitor/tv. I would appreciate any help from the experts here at this forums. Thanks.
