basic question on windows

I have looked at buying software for my computer. My OS is Win Me. I have seen that some software says that you need Win 95/98 to run. My question is Win 95/98 the same as Win Me?

    jaas,

In nearly all cases, software written for Windows 9X will run on Windows ME. If you have questions about a particular program, you can either visit the publisher's Web page and check or post your question in Delltalk (probably in the Software-Windows Millennium conference) and someone there will most likely be able to tell you whether they have been able to run it successfully on ME.

One software program about which question arise frequently is Acrobat Reader, which doesn't list an ME version. The Windows 98 version of that program works just fine under ME.
