BSOD after XP RAID Install...
I have researched the devil out of this and can find nothing. ANy ideas why I would get a BSOD after WIndows XP Pro install on a RAIDED 320GB STA drive set. USed F6 to install Intel RAID drivers, and everything seeems to work OK until the first post install reboot. Then immidiately BSOD's in regular and safe mode. I am convinced this computer should be able to do this...
Maybe I'm wrong. Help!

What Dell model do you have?
Also, did you enable RAID in the BIOS assuming your model's motherboard supports RAID?

Dimension 8400 Intel ICHR6 SATA RAID. Setup drives as RAID volume after enabling RAID in BIOS. Installed XP Pro, did the F6 install of drivers, although it said I didn't need to do it, then ran rest of XP install. Completed correctly, then rebooted automatically and immidiate BSOD. I have seen others having this problem, but no real solution found. I've gome through all BIOS RAID settings, all Intel drivers I can find that are appropriate for the MB, and checked drive function with MHDD and other utilities. I am stumped. It almost seems as though it's getting confused whether to boot off of the other drive or something...Ideas?

Did you use an internal floppy drive, to load the RAID driver [+Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver] and follow the procedures listed on pages 21 - 29 of your Dimension 8400 Owner's Manual?

The specific stop error code your system is displaying would go a long way towards determining what's causing it.

Do you have Drive Controller set to RAID On or RAID Autodetect/AHCI in BIOS?

I have never setup RAID via the Intel RAID ROM Utility at boot. I've only enabled RAID in the BIOS then installed my OS with the RAID drivers and installed the Intel Matrix Storage Manager application. Then I launch that application and create my RAID volume (RAID 1 in my case). Have you tried this method?

I have not. Sounds promising! Thank you! Just to make sure I understand:
Enablw RAID, but don't create volume.
Install OS on boot drive with RAID drivers
Install Intel Storage manager.
Create RAID volume.
Is that basically right?

Yep, you got the steps right.
You will need to delete your current RAID volume, if it's still there, first before you install your OS. Just go into the ROM Utility (CTRL+I) and delete the volume.
If you're creating a RAID 1, you will want to change to Advanced View and select "Create RAID volume using existing hard drive" from the Intel Matrix Storage Manager app. I've never created a RAID 0 so I'm not sure what option you would choose. Good luck!

Thanks Keith. I am still struggling with the errors. I think I may have a bad MB or Controller.
