built in card reader disappeared.

I have the multi-card reader in my Dimension E310.  The other day I got a new card and the reader wouldn't access it.  It's a brand new Kingston MicroSD w/adaptor for SD slot.  It works fine in my laptop.  I went back to the desktop and now the reader does not show up at all.  The reader shows up in the configuration at bootup.  It does not show up in the drives under device manager.  That's as far as the support wizard goes with this issue.  The computer is about 3 years old so I'm well out of warranty.

Any ideas?
