Cache and what it is

I am currently looking at two systems which I am interested in purchasing - a studio and an XPS 420. The models I am interested in have the same processor but there is a difference in cache - can someone explain what the difference between 12mb cache in the studio and 6mb l2 cache in the XPS and which is better with regards to performance.  Thanks

Hello,

The more Cache the better.

And, Google knows everything if you know how to ask. Look here about the CPU Cache.

See above.  It's memory within the CPU, where instructions can be accessed without going on the bus.  More is better.  You could kinda figure that, seeing as how it's more expensive.
