Can Not Detect Hardware
HELP! Just purchased a Dimension E310 Desktop and unable to install the Dell 720 Photo Printer. Called Dell Support and after almost 2 hours still not installed. Plug & Play not recongized, manual install failed with and without disk, down loaded driver from Dell website but still no luck (no luck with my MP3 player either). Was able to install printer to another system so the problem is not the printer. It was suggested to re install XP but honestly wouldn't know how to begin the process and it seems it should be unneccessary for a systems that hasn't been running for more than 30 days, but more than the 21 day return policy. The wireless keyboard, mouse and neck card working with no problems. Any suggestions would be gladly taken.

If you connected the printer to PC before you installed the software, XP probably installed the wrong drivers. Do a System Restore* to a date just before your first attempt to install this printer. Your personal files won't be lost but any XP updates or other software installed after the date used for the Restore will have to be reinstalled.
Once you've done the Restore, run the printer CD. Do NOT connect the printer to the PC until the printer software prompts you to do that.
*click start>help&support
click "undo changes..."
follow the prompts and pick a date before you tried installing the printer
