Changeing DIM4400 Bios
I have a DIM4400 with Intel 1.6GHz processor and 400MHz backbus, Intel 845 chipset with DDR memory support, 256Meg DDR SRAM (PC2100) in memory slot 1, a 37.21Gb hard disk (NTFS), BIOS A02
I what to upgrade my system by adding:
1. another 256 Meg of DDR SRAM in memory slot 2
2. another hard disk - 80Gb running at 7200 rpm
3. change the processor from 1.6MHz to a 2.6GHz processor.
I want to put the new hard disk as the C drive and move current hard disk to secondary position as D drive.
I currently have a DVD+RW as the D drive and a CD-RW as the E drive which I assume will move down when I add the new hard drive and move the existing one.
I know the current wisdom about BIOS is "if it its not broke don't fix it". However; with these changes should I flash the BIOS to A06 which is listed as the latest BIOS for my specific computer in "DOWNLOAD" .
Also anyone see a problem with what I plan to do
Thanks for your help
Don
