CMOS configuration settings

I have mine set to HD, then CD, then floppy. It will speed up your system a little as it won't need to check for a boot disk in your floppy drive. If your HD crashes you can always change the boot order if you need to.

If you have start-up delays, chances are it is not because the boot sequence starts with the floppy. Check to see whats starting up when you boot, perhaps you can eliminate certain things.
From a cold boot my machine starts up and ready to go in 28 Seconds. Boot sequence is A, C

only thing thats starting up is my virus porgram and thats it. Also is there away to decrease shut down time on windows xp. I just cam from there site I only seen the increase time shutdown. I dont like the fact when logging off windows xp it always have to do a save system settings. That is the only thing I hate about windows xp other version like windows me seem to be faster because it didnt have to go to a blue screen that says save system setting before it shuts down.

Are you in a rush to shut down-Your nit-picking about seconds. Do a Contrl-Alt-Delete and look at the start up tab. See whats loading there.

 

I found the information I was looking for on microsoft site now it doesnt have to do a save settings.Im bye passing all blue screens. And im not nit-picking  just dont like the wait time especially when im on the phone with a tech person.
