Computer changes text (font) size on it`s own

I can start my computer, go to my Inbox and be reading my e-mail. The computer will make a noise, the taskbar and menu will change to a black background for a few seconds and then change back to the original color. Immediately the text size (font) changes size on it`s own. I would like to know how to stop this action. The change of the text size on it`s own is the main problem. I believe if we find a way to stop this the background color change will correct itself. Also the color change is for only two or three seconds. This is a new Dell computer and the changing of text size is driving me up the wall. I need help!

hello,

i'm assuming you have winxp,...does it make that black/white transition, or should i say effect...i'm not sure why your systems is doing it on it's own. How oftens does this happen?

It is a Dell XP system. Changing to a black background is not a major problem because it changes back to the original color in a few seconds. Changing text (font) size is a problem. It does this one time after each startup. You can correct this by clicking on View and Text Size. After one time @ startup the computer does not do it again until the next startup. Help!
