Computer hangs at blue screen

Here is the problem when I turn my Dell on I get the "blue screen of death" that states that my computer has been shut down etc.etc. and it also says registry error.  I cannot start it in safe mode, or from last known good settings, I cannot reinstall Windows, and basically I am just stuck with the blue screen coming back no matter what I do. I ran error checking from the Dell cd and everything passed.  I spent one hour with Dell support (I use the term support lightly) over a terrible connection with someone that spoke very little english and after an hour of this guy rudely telling me to do the same thing fifty times (I swear he was taking another call at the same time and had no idea what he was telling either of us) he either hung up or the terrible phone connection was lost.  Basically I have no idea how to proceed, the computer is only 4 months old so I know it is under warranty. I have only seen the blue screen of death one other time and that was when my hard drive crashed on my old Gateway but at least they had support staff that identified the problem and overnighted a new hard drive.  If anyone has any idea on how to fix this please let me know.

If you are stating that you ran the diags and the hardware of the system passed all the tests and that you have tried a software reinstall and this does not work then I can see where they are having problems with finding what is causing this.

Open the system and reseat all the connections to the drives. You should also reseat the cards in the system including the ram. Then see if the system will boot. If you still get the blue screen you should post the error that you receive ( exact text of the error please ) and what diagnostic lights are on the back  of the system as well as any beep codes that you may receive.

Hi, I have a very similar if not the same problem:

Every time I boot my computer it says the system has not been shut down properly and gives me the 4 options. however which ever one I choose it goes to the BSOD saying:

stop: c0000218{registry file failure}
the registry can not load the hive (file)
\systemroot\system32\config\software
or its log or alternate
it is corrupt, absent or not writable

Begining dump of physical memory
phys mem dump incomplete
contact your system admin/tech support
groups for further assistance

I've tried booting from the windows cd but it just hangs after I have confirmed i want it to boot from the cd. I've also tried using a boot disk but that doesn't get me anywhere: I cant access C (hard disk) or D(CD) drives.

all 4 diagnostic lights are green,

my computer is a 4500 dimension

thanks,

Rich

Ok, First of all this is a Dimension 4600 and the blue screen of death gives the following string of numbers: 0X00000051(0X00000003,0X00000003,0X00000000,0XE14F2000). I am running Windows XP Pro.
