Conflicting audio devices

My recently purchased system is a XPS 8500 with Realtek HD integrated audio and an AMD Radeon HD 7570 video card.  I was wondering if any other members who have this same hardware have had any problem running the Dell Audio (Realtek) control center application that is in the Control Panel.  While becoming familiar with my system, I discovered the Dell Audio app would not load.  Nothing would happen when I clicked on the Dell Audio icon in the Control Panel, and an application error would be registered in the Event Log. The Device Manager showed three sound devices (Realtek HD Audio, Intel Display Audio, and AMD HD Audio), all working properly.  I discovered through trial and error that disabling the AMD HD Audio device eliminated the problem with the Dell Audio app without causing any apparent audio problems (I am using only a pair of stereo speakers).  I would like to know if this problem with the Dell Audio app is unique to my computer or if others have the same problem.  Also, does anyone know if disabling the AMD audio device will cause audio issues that haven't surfaced yet on my machine?  If the AMD and Realtek audio devices are supposed to work without conflict, does anyone know  a solution that will eliminate the problem I am having without having to disable the AMD device?  I have reloaded both the audio and video drivers but the problem still persists.  Any help will be appreciated.

Mheard256,

I cannot find anyone posting this issue. Either others have the issue and ignore it, or they do not have the issue.

* Right click the speaker icon on the taskbar
* Click the Playback tab
* Only the Realtek HD should have a green check
* Click the Recording tab
* Only the Realtek HD should have a green check
* Click OK
