Correct Bios Boot Order?
What is the best Boot order to set in the Bios?? Is it #1 HD, #2 CD, #3 Removable Media and #4 Other???, Currently it has removable media as #1 and it takes foreve for the system to start up. I am using Vista, have installed CD/DVD, and have numerous devices connected using USB.

Hi,
#1 Hard drive
#2 CD CDRW ect.
#3 Removable media.
#4 Other.
To load or reload OS, Switch 1 and 2 around.

The best boot order is whatever makes you happy. I often set the diskette drive to be number one (when we had diskette drives!) simply because if I wanted to run a disk based diagnostic, or wipe out the existing OS in preparation for installing a new one, it was easier that way. I just popped in the diskette and did what I wanted to do. There is less reason for that sort of thing these days because most Dells give you the one time boot menu; F12 at start-up. Therefore, if waiting on the computer, because it is waiting to see if there is boot code on one of your other devices, is bothering you, make the HD number 1 in the boot order.
