CPU FAN ERROR

I am getting a Previous CPU Fan Error on start up.This is a Dim.8400 that was shipped to me to replace another one I had problems with. When it arrived and I turned it on it beeped and the fan ran WIDE open and made a LOUD noise. The diag lights showed a memory failure and the support person had me swap the memory from my old computer to the new one and everything is fine except for the error message. It in instructs me to press F1 and when I do the diag. lights show all green on the back and everything is fine until I reboot. Is this a cause for concern? This fan is also much quieter than the previous one I had. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Reading this post should provide more information.

Also. as posted, contact Dell Technical Support and have them replace the fan.

It says PREVIOUS CPU FAN FAILURE.Then it says press F1 to continue. When I first boot up and have the message the diag.light D is yellow but when I press F1 then light turns green and everything works.

puter man.

Is it a "Fan Failure" error message you receive on boot up?  If so, then contact Dell's Tech, Support and have them replace the Fan.
