Dell 530 Performance Issue

Hi All,

I was wondering if someone had a bit of a clue as to the slow performance of my 530 workstation.  I am running dual 2.8 xeons and have 2gb of ram, I have an nVIdia Quadra4 900 XGL video card, my problem is that on the 3dMark2001pro I only get 7500 marks, which seems very low.  Does anyone have any ideas to tweak the performance?

Cheers, Glenn

I'm not much on the workstation video cards, but if the card you have is the same core as a GeForce4 then that's not off too bad, if it's below a GF4 then you're right on the mark. What core does the card use? I run a ATI FireGL X1 (9700pro) and get around 14500+, but a 9700pro core puts the older NV core's to shame. Give me the video spec's and I'll see what the guys I work with have to say on the same.

Hi there,

I have checked the core speeds using Rivatuner, and its set at 300.4mhz, with memory clock at 648mhz.  I havent overclocked the card or done anything with it yet, I use it mainly for photoshop and business stuff anyway, thats why I bought that particular card, I was just interested as to the fairly low scores compared with some of the other results online.  Thanks for your reply!

Cheers, glenn
