mreman , Glad you like your system. But your scores seem extremly low for your system. By any chance did you disable vsync and make sure you dont have antialiasing on? Also what driver version are you using right now? The reason I say this is because I have an Athlon 1.4, 256 DRR, 20 gig, Geforce4 TI4600 all running stock and my score for 3DMark 2001SE is 9235. I know your card is not up to par with the 4600 but you still should be getting more out of your system. This is not to discourage you but to possibly help you get more out of your rig. Try turning off Vsync and any antialiasing that may be dropping your score and also run the test at default, 1024x768x32 with no antialiasing. If they are on I think if you turn them off you'll see a huge increase in performance. I hope this helps and I hope you enjoy your CP. Laters.

Yeah, I had turned anti-aliasing off, but I haven't bothered with having to disable V-sync. I might just buy a new video card to upgrade this system. I play my current games fine though, so it's all good

The card you have is just a Geforce 2...don't let the name full you. Get a REAL Geforce 4....

go to madonion.com 3dmark2001se 300 is what you want to download. my 3dmark2001 se score is 11172 with no overclocking 11362 overclocked memory to 670 from 650

many people use 3dmark which is can be found at www.madonion.com. or just go to download.com and do a search for 3dmark.

i cannot believe they throw anything MX in these machines, such a waste. you could push you 3dmark to 8 or 9000 by using an ATI 8500 or geforce 4600.

8 or 9? Joker is correct....I'm getting 11k with a 4400.

I got a geforce 2 only and my games play great.

Is there that much of a difference with a geforce 4?

I usually get no slowdown

the gforce4 mx is about the same as you got but the ti versions are 3.5 x as fast you would notice a difference if you play first person shooting games or flight simulation games the most but you will see a difference in all games.the ti versions blow the mx versions out of the water.

I have an 8200 w/ a 2.26 P-4 and a Gainward GF4 Ti 4200....without O/C the vid I score upper 10's, with vid maxed out (307/570) I score 11,348

I have only had this PC for a few months, so all this sounds very strange to me!

NVIDIA Geforce is the chipset on the video card. The various models differ predominantly in speed and the ability to run 3D graphics quickly (frames per second.) The faster the card, the smoother the game will run.

The Geforce4 chipset is the latest release from NVIDIA.

The difference between the TI500 (yours) and the TI200 (mine) is mostly the amount of video memory.

Cimas, also, the Geforce cards, in majority of opinions, is the best video cards to get. Almost always above other competition. There are several brands which use the geforce chipsets. Not significant differences, but some companies will add little extras in their box, like maybe a game package, or better fans, heatsinks, etc., on the cards. Comapnies that use the Nvidia Geforce chips are for example, PNY, Visiontek, Leadtek, MSI, and others. And yes, your card is a good one, there have been others to come out recently since yours, that are faster, but thats the way it will always be, the card you have should run games quite nicely for you.
